The original brewery was founded back in 1894. A few years later in 1898 the "Moravia Joint Stock Company" was founded. At its peak, the brewery brewed about 200,00 hectares of beer a year, making it the second largest brewery in Brno and one of the largest in Moravia. It was mainly the time of the first republic, which was very favourable to the development of the beer industry. However the brewery was caught up in the economic crisis, which resulted in the cessation of production in 1933. Later in 1943, the brewery merged with the Old Brno Brewery which led to the demise of the once famous Moravia Brewery Brand. Subsequently, the Pivovar Moravia brand was registered and the famous tradition could be continued. Moravia has been sharing technology and premiss with brother brand "Lucky Bastard" to create a range of flavours based on traditional brewing methods and techniques.
